Why Coffee Enemas are a Big Deal for Women?
Feb 06, 2025
The Role of the Liver in Hormone Health
Many women aren’t aware of the role the liver plays in hormone health. The liver is a processor and regulator that affects hormone health in many ways. It regulates and metabolizes various hormones to carry out their functions within the body, all at the same time.
One of the liver’s roles is to help regulate the balance of sex hormones, thyroid hormones, cortisone and other adrenal hormones. The liver transforms or removes any excess hormones from the body through phase 1 and 2 detoxification. This breaks down excess hormones into less harmful substances and removes them from the body safely.
If your liver is not functioning optimally, then your liver may not be able to properly remove estrogen at its normal rate. That means estrogen can be poorly metabolized and can get reabsorbed in the body, leading to a hormonal imbalance.
Symptoms of Hormone Imbalance
Hormonal imbalances may occur when there is too much or too little of a hormone in the bloodstream. This can happen when the liver is overburdened and unable to process and regulate hormones such as excess estrogen effectively.
Hormonal imbalances can be associated with symptoms related to:
- Bloating
- Swelling
- heavy periods
- sore breasts
- PMS
- irregular cycles
- decreased
- sex drive
- and more
Why Coffee Enemas are Beneficial to Hormone Health
Coffee enemas help boost phase 1 and 2 liver detoxification to break down excess hormones into less harmful substances and remove them from the body safely.
Coffee contains unique elements that are helpful to the body. The main two can increase the level of glutathione in the intestines and the liver: cafestol palmitate and kahweol palmitate. It’s important to note that coffee is the only known source of these two constituents.
Glutathione helps the liver remove toxins and excess hormones such as estrogen from the body. It supports the growth and repair of damaged liver tissue. It also helps regulate the activity of enzymes involved in liver metabolism.
Coffee Enemas Have Additional Benefits:
- Supports the elimination of heavy metals like bio-unavailable copper, cadmium, mercury and lead
- Improves digestion and peristalsis
- Improves bile flow
- Reduces systemic toxicity
- Eliminates parasites and candida
- Helps repair liver function
- Eliminates bloating
- Increases mental clarity
- Boosts energy levels
- Decreases pain, arthritis, depression, cancer and inflammatory bowel disease.
Are Coffee Enemas Hard to Do?
No, it’s easy to learn how to do safe and effective coffee enemas with a minimum of equipment.
Here’s how to do a coffee enema:
- Fill a small pot with 1 liter of filtered water. Add 3 tablespoons of your ground organic coffee and bring to a boil for 2 minutes. Then reduce the heat to low, cover with a tight lid and simmer for 15 minutes. Let it cool down, then strain out the grinds. Add more water to bring the volume back to 1 liter, as boiling evaporates some of the water.
- Attach the hose and attachment piece to your enema bucket and clamp the hose. Put a little coconut oil or other lubricant on the attachment and insert it into your rectum.
- Lay on your right side or on your knees and unfasten the clamp.
- Once your solution has emptied from the bucket, clamp the hose, pull out the attachment, either invert or lay on your right side, knees to chest, and breathe deeply.
- Try to retain the coffee enema for 15-20 minutes so you can get all the effects of the coffee. You are receiving benefits for holding it 5 min. And when you hold for 10 min!
- When your 15-20 minutes are up (or however long you can hold it), you’ll know it. Get up slowly and sit on the toilet.
- When you’re done, clean your toilet, take a shower, rinse the bucket with hydrogen peroxide and sanitize the attachment

Boosters That Can be Added to Coffee Enemas:
ME Support: Great addition to enemas to help with releasing parasites and the emotional lens. It is very effective for liver flukes and the emotional connection to parasites. It helps with letting them go.
Advanced Tudca: Advanced Tudca stimulates bile flow and helps decongest bile ducts as it opens drainage pathways, allowing the liver to purge stones, flukes and aids the body’s overall detoxification process. Dose Start slow with half of a capsule. Over time you can work up to 2 capsules opened and sprinkled into an enema.
Para 3: Para 3 offers detoxification support, immune support and gut terrain support as it encourages healthy drainage pathways which will help minimize unwanted reactions or symptoms with parasite removal. Dose Start with 1-3 drops, building up to 1 full dropper.
CT Minerals: In addition to their trace mineral content, fulvic acids help nourish the gut microbiome, support gut function and may help assist nutrient absorption from other foods and supplements. They also have chelating properties, which encourages the body’s natural ability to detoxify. Dose Build up to 1 capsule sprinkled into the enema.
Binders That Can be Added to Coffee Enemas:
Binders promote the body’s natural ability to detoxify and offer increased support to the gut microbiome, which optimizes immunity and digestive function. This is an especially effective addition to an enema during a parasite cleanse! Each of the binders are formulated to support different areas of the body. Each time you choose to use a binder in your enema, it is great to rotate your binder to get the most out of your detox as each binder offers different support to your detox. Dose: One capsule sprinkled into an enema.
BioToxin Binder: helps prevent die-off reactions when parasites, yeast and bacteria are escorted out of the body. This binder helps remove parasitic endotoxins such as gliotoxin, acetaldehyde, mycotoxins, mold and mold spores.
ViRadChem Binder: assists in the body’s natural ability to detoxify while supporting cellular repair and overall support to balance and the body’s free radical scavenging systems. Get Biotoxin Binder here.
HM-ET Binder: supports the body’s natural ability to detoxify and encourages cellular repair, increased support to mitochondrial health, immunity, energy production, and long-term health.
Carboxy: is the most potent binder, great for environmental & industrial toxins. Tough on mold, fungus, parasites and great for binding to ammonia. Carboxy contains short and long-chain carbons, which can travel to different parts of the body, beyond the gut.
Don’t Forget to Replenish!
An imperative component of successfully adding coffee enemas into your regular self care is ensuring there are efforts in place to replenish your minerals. It is often stated that if you are feeling tired after doing a coffee enema, it is because you are lacking electrolytes and minerals and nutrients.
Focusing on replenishment will ensure that your cleansing efforts do not contribute to or cause any stories of depletion and should be considered a part of the complete coffee enema protocol!
Favorites for replenishing:
- FEMfusion
- Redmond’s ReLyte
- Coconut water
- Fresh pressed juice
- Broths and stocks
- Epsom or mineral flake soak
- Magnesium BisGlycinate
